SY 2005 - 06
It seems like this past school year just flashed before my eyes. So much has happened and I've never been as busy as I've been the past year. And I've never worked as hard too.
But the past week, it seemed, moved slowly. The deadlines, exams and other things that had to be attended to, didn't seem to end. And it still doesn't. Right now, I'm still working on two projects and two more exams.
So what have I accomplished? Probably a lot. I feel like this past school year has really transformed me and made me a mature, responsible student, and person. Although I still cram and procrastinate, I am now more focused on the right priorities. I have learned to spend my money more wisely. I'm still impulsive and frivolous, but I'd like to think I now appreciate the value of my money more. I have been studying hard, and working even harder. The past schoolyear, I have been tutoring, conducting remedial classes and blogging.
Sad to say, there is also a part of me that is really suffering: my social life. Haven't been out much. Didn't really meet new people. Aside from re-connecting with some old friends, my social life hasn't really made much progress. But's that the pay-off, I guess, for have good grades and rewarding jobs.
Unfortunately, this summer doesn't really hold much promise on the social front. My plan consist mainly of school and work, still.

Trapped
Sometimes something earth-shattering happens in our lives. And in our quest to have a sense of normalcy, we get trapped in a routine. Unfortunately, our routine only reminds us of the pain and suffering. And instead of normalcy, what we get is a deathtrap of emotions. But still we are afraid, afraid to move on, afraid of change, afraid that another thing might only give us more pain. Unfortunately, our fear and anxiety paralyze us.

Math Puzzle
Ateneo de Manila Professor Queena N. Lee-Chua, in her column Eureka! in the Philippine Daily Inquirer (page B4) gave this Math puzzle today (March 4, 2006):
Amazing, right? I love this puzzle. I emailed my solution/explanation to this puzzle.
This can also work for cellphone numbers if you use only the last seven digits (ie d not include 0916, 0917, 0918, 0920, 0906, or whatever the first four digits of your mobile number is) of your mobile number.
1. Key in the first three digits of your seven-digit phone number into the calculator. (Note: Do not key in the area code, but the three digits after.)
2. Multiply by 80.
3. Add 1.
4. Multiply by 250.
5. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number.
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone nmber again.
7. Subtract 250.
8. Divide by 2.

American Idol 5 Eliminates Bottom 4
American Idol 5 bade farewell to...
BRENNA Getthers - YAHOO! happy! happy! happy!
HEATHER Cox - poor her! but she deserves it, her singing voice is just isn't at par with the others
JOSE "SWAY" Penala - too bad... Pinoy Power didn't save him
DAVID Radford - cute looks don't make an Idol... too bad, I will miss him, heh!

3 GEDDEON McKinney - much better than last week
4 BUCKY Covington - very good but lack charisma; outshined by Chris
5 WILL Makar - reminded me of Josh Groban but still forgettable
6 TAYLOR Hicks - made me smile; still has a lot of work to do
7/8 KEVIN Cobais - not a sex symbol! haha... he owned the song; it wasn't a great performace but very enjoyable; I love the song
7/8 DAVID Radford - failed to wow, but turned it an ok performance; the song was one of my favorites and I love David but...
9/10 ACE Young - I agree with Simon on this one; he picked the wrong song and butchered the song throughout his performance; like David, I liked him and the song (separately from each other

American Idol 5 Top 10 Girls
Disappointing is how I would describe the performance of the remaining American Idol 5 girls. They failed to surpass or even just measure up to their excellent performances last week. Nonetheless, some showed brillliance while others were just forgettable or painful to watch and hear.
My ranking:
1 MANDISA - fantastic performance; very good song choice, powerful voice
2/3 KELLIE Pickler - great performance; way better than last week
2/3 LISA Tucker - very good performance but somewhat forgettable
4 KATHARINE McPhee - good but not her best, disappointing coz we all know that she's capable of something better
5 AYLA Brown - continues to shock and impress with her smart choices; a bit shaky but still very good
6/7 MELISSA McGhee - surprisingly good but still charisma
6/7/8 PARIS Bennett - good but creepy performance; not forgettable but something I'd like to forget
7/8 KINNIK Sky - ok performance, not bad but not too good either
9 HEATHER Cox - boring performance
10 BRENNA Getthers - reminded me of the horror that was Bobby Bennett's Copacabana performance...
